Jayan “Jay” Hong grew up in Los Angeles, but moved to the east coast to attend high school near Boston, Massachussetts. Upon graduating from high school, he moved on to Bates College in Lewiston, Maine where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After college, Jay moved to New York City to work as a legal assistant in a Top 25 law firm. He worked in the commercial litigation department assisting attorneys in every aspect of litigation from small to large complex cases.
Jay then moved back to Los Angeles to attend Southwestern Law School. After law school, Jay joined the Public Defender’s Office in Riverside County and worked there until January 2013. While at the Public Defender’s Office, Jay handled thousands of cases of all types including DUI’s, theft, drugs, domestic violence, battery, assault, gang crimes, serious and violent felonies, and many others. In handling these cases, Jay has conducted hundreds of preliminary hearings, all types of motions, and numerous trials. He also has extensive knowledge and experience of juvenile law having spent over a year in juvenile court while representing thousands of children and teenagers against criminal charges.
